Enjoy Trondheim during the brightest days of the year

During the brightest days of the year, we are very happy to welcome you all to our wonderful historic city in the heart of Norway. Being the third largest city in Norway, with 180.000 inhabitants, Trondheim is described as a big village. Trondheim was founded in year 997 AD and was Norway’s first capital. Right in the middle of town you find the historic Nidaros cathedral from year 1070.

These days, instead of Viking raiders and Hanseatic traders, visitors find jazz musicians and an international students savouring Trondheim city life. Trondheim’s charms also extend well beyond its city centre, where city parks and forests, the Trondheim fjord, and the river Nidelven offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and water sports of many kinds.
