The hotels in Trondheim have a capacity of over 3.200 rooms, ranging from small and cosy hotels to Norway’s two largest conference hotels. Trondheim hotels usually offer free breakfast and Wi-Fi. Trondheim’s compact geography means that all hotels are within 15-20 minutes walking distance of NTNU’s main campus and the conference venue.

Britannia Hotel
Dating back to 1897, this is perhaps the most grand hotel in Trondheim. It provides luxury spa facilities, four restaurants and a piano bar. Wi-Fi is free. Britannia Hotel’s rooms mix classic décor with modern comforts. All have a writing desk and flat-screen TV. Some rooms have tea/coffee facilities and a seating area. The Britannia Spa & Wellness Centre offers special treatments, massages and saunas for a fee. One of the airport buses stops directly outside Hotel Britannia.

Scandic Nidelven is an extremely popular hotel, not least because of its breakfast, which has been voted the best hotel breakfast in Norway for the past 10 years running. This hotel is set right by the Nidelva River. It offers free WiFi internet. Scandic Nidelven’s restaurant, Kjøkken, serves dishes made from fresh, locally produced ingredients. A 24-hour art gallery offers a taste of Trondheim’s busy cultural scene. The Broen Lunch & Pianobar offers lighter snacks, sandwiches and homemade cakes. Just 400 m from Scandic Nidelven are the many pubs and clubs of the Nedre Elvehavn district.

Situated by the Nidelva River in the picturesque Bakklandet district of Trondheim, Scandic Bakklandet offers free WiFi and rooms with flat-screen cable TVs. Glassgården Brasserie & Grill overlooks the Nidelva River and offers French-inspired cuisine with a modern twist, based on local ingredients. Set in a 1908 Gothic-style stone building in central Trondheim, Thon Hotel Gildevangen is located in the city centre. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with flat-screen TV. The modern guest rooms at Thon Gildevangen Hotel also feature large windows, high ceilings and antique-style wood furnishings. All have a minibar and tea and coffee facilities. The MacBeth Bar offers drinks in a lively atmosphere. A buffet breakfast is served every morning. An free evening buffet is served from Monday until Thursday.

P-Hotels Trondheim is a low-price option, located in the city centre. Each morning a simple but complimentary breakfast is delivered to your door. The hotel offers rooms with a flat-screen TV and free WiFi access. Nordre gate pedestrian street is 50 m away. A local newspaper can be borrowed at the reception. The hotel has a convenient 24-hour reception. A washing machine and dryer, with free washing powder, is available for guests’ use. Several restaurants, pubs and night clubs are located on the same street.

Trondheim offers accommodation in many categories, ranging from luxury hotels through to cheaper but convenient options. You can easily find your own accommodation in Trondheim through the usual hotel and accommodation web services (hotels.com, booking.com etc). Here are a few comments to some options you may want to consider:
- Scandic Lerkendal is a brand new congress hotel located next to Lerkendal Stadium, home of famous Rosenborg Football Club. It is the closest one to the EurOMA 2016 Conference venue at Gløshaugen. If you’re in Trondheim just for the conference, this hotel is a good option.
- Clarion Hotel and Congress Trondheim is a new congress hotel located at the fjord front. It is a 15 minutes walk from the city centre, and a 35 minutes walk from the conference venue. This is where the Conference Dinner will take place.
- All hotels in Trondheim from the hotel chains Choice / Comfort, Scandic and Thon Hotels are good options.
- If you are looking for a more affordable option, a recommended alternative is Singsaker Summerhotel, which is very conveniently located in regard to the venue and city centre.
- Another low budget option is Trondheim Youth Hostel, which has options including single and family rooms, in addition to dorms. The hostel was refurbished recently and maintains a good standard.
- A third option is Trondheim Apartment Hotel at Lilleby, which also provides spacious rooms with cooking facilities.
